Please send us copies of your photos. And please send any additional information you may have about a particular photo that is displayed here.

If you have photos to send the easiest method is to e-mail them to us at: webmaster @ ussjohnston.org
If you need some assistance please read on.

If you have additional information to send about a certain photo displayed here please send that information to:
webmaster @ ussjohnston.org

You can send us your digitized photos in any format. However, if possible please use the JPEG format. (The file name extension will be .jpg.)

Please include as much information as possible with your photos. However, if you have very little information about your pictures, please send them in anyway. After we post them others may be able provide more information when they see your photos here.

The easiest way to get your pictures here is to have them scanned and e-mail them to us as an attachment to an e-mail message.

Most towns have a copy store such as Kinkos (www.kinkos.com) that will scan a print for you. The important thing to remember is to have your pictures scanned at a low resolution. If you are having the scans made for you, just tell the shop that the scans are for a Web page and to scan them at about that resolution. That will help keep the file sizes smaller and quicker to e-mail.

Once you have your photos scanned, it is easy to attach them to an e-mail message and send them to us. Most e-mail programs will have an option to attach a file to your letter.

Note: Some e-mail services have a limit on the size of the file you can send and receive. Therefore, it is best you send only one photo per e-mail message. That will be better for us anyway as we are also looking for the information you send with each photograph.

Please include all the information you can, particularly as to who is visible in the photo. The year the photo was taken and where is always nice to know.

If you do not have much information, send the photo anyway! Tell us your best guess at what year it is from so we can post it. Others may be able to write us and let us know who is shown in the photo, etc.

Thanks for taking the time to send us your photos. Hope you enjoy those that have already been sent in.
